June's Greenkeeping Report

Firstly what a fantastic County week we hosted. Some wonderful compliments about our course & it’s great playing conditions. Also much praise for all our catering staff, well done.

As for this month on the course it’s mainly just grass cutting, Mow mow mow!! as the conditions continue to be mild so just more of the same continuous demanding upkeep from Gordon & his team. Next week Gordon will be dusting the greens & adding colour & biology before golf week begins. Work on the bore hole will begin after golf week to avoid any disruption.

I’ve had a chat with Gordon about concerns about the poor state of a couple of the tee areas mainly on the 11th & 15th, and we think that we should be looking at re levelling these tees as we have the 10th. This will require temporary tee blocks in the way of mats through the winter months to give Gordon a chance to do all prep work required. Obviously this will cost but in my opinion well worth it.

I also think that we should be congratulating Gordon as a committee of his achievements for county week & passing on the great comments that we received.
