Senior’s Section of Mullion GC

A warm welcome to the Senior's Section of Mullion GC. Any male member over 60 years of age is automatically a member of this friendly, active Section so please read on. (this age limit is being reviewed at the next AGM in March and there is a proposal to lower this to 55).

What’s going on?

Mondays and Wednesdays, read on.

As a club we meet for informal rollups a number of times through the week. On a Monday the friendly 'Monday Club' meet at 10.00 organised by Phil Dickson. The WAGS (Wednesday Afternoon Golfer's) gather in the Clubhouse for coffee around 11.00 and draw for partners. This is a very popular group which welcomes newcomers and is the best way to meet members. There can be 30 or mor players on a sunny day!   Seniors day is a Thursday for matches and competitions.

All standard of golfers are welcome to play in our home and away matches against local clubs. There are 18 matches played from late February to October. Cost  is £13 for golf and a 2 course meal, great value. We are delighted these matches were well supported in 2017 and 2018 and have proved so successful we are often oversubscribed. Fear not, there is a carefully worked selection process so everyone will play if you wish to join us. See the Senior's Notice Board.

We hold 18 cup competitions, normally played on a Thursday.  Two Seniors Open Competitions (Cyril Lane and Dennis Bray) are played in May and June, these attract golfers from across the County and provide our main section funding.

This year's Senior's Fun Away Weekend is returning to Bowood Golf Club (30 Jun/1 July 19) after last years success.

The Men's Club Competitions are normally played on a Sunday morning with Club Monthly Medal and Stableford competitions on a Wednesday from April through to October. (No 4-balls to be played between 1000 and 1330 on these Wednesdays to avoid slow play on these popular days).  A weekly Stableford roll up competition is now run on a Friday. For Wednesday and Friday competitions arrange your own playing partners and register in the Pro Shop. Sunday competitions are drawn start times, made on a Friday, the list normally comes down on a Thursday see the Main notice board. Please be aware of slow play and we ask you to follow the guidance on the Rules of Golf.

5 Ball play is not permitted under any circumstances at any time on the course.

We offer you a cordial invitation to join in and support your Senior's Section, everyone is welcom.
